Remember I mentioned this guy Substantial in my previous Nujabes post? Yeah this is the guy I was talking about. If you liked the songs with him, you should like this album, although the beats are different. Hes a really good artist, and is affiliated with the QN5 group that includes Tonedeff, and Extended Famm. I haven't thoroughly listened to this release, so I can't really say much about it. What I can say is that Substantial is a very good lyricist. If you want to find out how he sounds, download it and listen for yourself or check out the video below.

As you can see I really have a love for this duo. Double K and Thes One did it again with their newest album Stepfather (2006). This album is comparable O.S.T. This was the first album I downloaded from them and it got me hooked. I thoroughly recommend this album for the avid hip hop heads. Don't sleep on this. Thes One and Double K still come with amazing flow and bumpin lyrics. Download it. Also look out for Step In, Pass The 40, Flex Off, Tuxedo Rap, Days Like This, Jamboree Pt. 1, Eat Street, Crown Ones, The Brownout, More Than You Know, and On and On. Look out for their up and coming album Fun DMC dropping somewhere around fall of this year.

You should be too, because I'm providing you with the EP, even before it comes out! I'm downloading it at the moment, but I have no doubt that its going to be good. Some candy for the skull

So I'm browsing through the Skullcandy website, and I find that they created a bunch of new headphones for people to sport while rocking to their music, check out a few of my favorites:

To the left are their newest inventions, their called Double Agents. They are wireless, and along with that they can play music straight from the headphone via SD card. They're about 100 bucks, click the picture to check the specs, different colors, and maybe even to buy these bad boys if you're willing to shell out that much for headphones.




To the right we have the classic Hesh headphones, which were the original ones that I wanted. They now come in different styles, like the green/black shown. According to the website "this joint roars like a sea monster whupping Batman's ass." They go for about 50 bucks, not bad. Click the picture for specs, colors, or to buy 'em.




Over at the left again, we got new flavors for the original TI headphones. I really don't know why you would want so much gold on your head, but if that's your style go for it. These can set you back about 80 bucks. Click the picture for info, or to buy them.





Last but not least we have the Lowriders. I own a pair of these, the black and gold ones, and I've gotta say, they're durable, stylish, portable and can pump some amazing music into your deserving ears. The guys at Skullcandy have come up with a dozen new colors so no one person can be caught with the same color headphones (its happened to me before and its not very cool). If you're looking into getting a relatively inexpensive good pair of over the ear headphones, I recommend these. They'll cost you about 35-40 bucks depending on where you search (Bestbuy, or Target would be your best bet price wise). Click the picture for info, or to buy these little eardrum poppers.

The Watchmen Trailer

So I know quite a bit about comic (learned from my brother), but I haven't heard of this one before. The Watchmen was something new to me so I looked it up on wikipedia so that I could understand the storyline and get some background on the comic and this is what I've come up with:

Watchmen is set in 1985, in an alternate history United States where costumed adventurers are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union (the Doomsday Clock is at five minutes to midnight). It tells the story of a group of past and present superheroes and the events surrounding the mysterious murder of one of their own. Watchmen depicts superheroes as real people who must confront ethical and personal issues, who struggle with neuroses and failings, and who—with one notable exception—lack anything recognizable as super powers. Watchmen's deconstruction of the conventional superhero archetype, combined with its innovative adaptation of cinematic techniques and heavy use of symbolism, multi-layered dialogue, and metafiction, has influenced both comics and film.

A few more tweaks

So I added a couple more tweaks to the site. I added a navigation bar that will take you to the main categories of my posts, such as albums, videos, mp3s, fuckary, and gear. You can still view all of the categories on the sidebar towards the bottom of the page. I also added a new "back to top" feature that's located in the bottom right corner of the page, it's an easy way to navigate to the top of the page. I'm just trying to make the site a little more user friendly.
